Fort Myers Police says a man and a woman are in critical condition after a head-on collision along Colonial Boulevard.
Report says a 58-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were driving along Colonial Boulevard when the accident occurred. The accident scene was not too far from McDonald’s. It happened when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction swerved into them, causing a head-on collision.
According the investigators, the driver of the other car crossed the center line and into the couple’s lane.
First responders said both victims sustained traumatic injuries following the crash incidence. They have been rushed to an area hospital in life-support system due to the severity of the crash. Report says the man and the woman are presently in critical conditions with life-threatening injuries.
The 24-year-old driver of the car that caused the wreck came out of his car and ran from the scene. Officers apprehended him moments later. The 25-year-old female passenger in his car was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no word yet as to what charges he could face. Police is still investigating the incidence.
