Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle on Collier Boulevard in Fort Myers. The rider of the motorcycle died from his injuries.
The crash occurred when the driver of a vehicle, identified as an 18-year-old man, made a left hand turn on Collier Boulevard into the path of a motorcycle driven by Coel Stocklein.
Report says the rider of the motorcycle, 19-year-old Coel Stocklein of Marco Island, was unable to avoid a collision and struck the passenger side of the vehicle. He was thrown from his motorcycle after the impact and later died from the injuries he sustained.
Police say the crash also left two others injured. An 18-year-old driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and the 19-year-old passenger received minor injuries.
FHP says the investigation is ongoing and no further details were released at the time of this report.
