Car Strikes An Elderly Female Pedestrian On Northwest 19th Avenue

Law enforcement officials say an elderly female pedestrian is in critical condition after she was hit by a pickup truck on Northwest 19th Avenue while she was walking her dog.

According to reports the 81-year-old woman was walking alongside her dog on the sidewalk of Northwest 19th Avenue when she was struck by a pickup truck. Eyewitnesses said the woman was hit by a Ford pickup that swerved onto the sidewalk.

Officials did not indicate why the vehicle swerved onto the sidewalk. The incident is still under investigation.

EMS arrived at the scene of the accident soon after it happened to administer aid to the injured woman. Emergency crews reported that she was transferred to a hospital by first responders after she was stabilized. It was also reported that her dog was not hurt in the accident.

The woman’s identity has not been released to the public, and it was not reported if any charges will be filed against the driver.
