Car Crashes Into Store In Miami; Three Injured

According to the Miami Police Department, three people have been injured after a car crashed into a store.

The report says this accident happened a few yards away from an intersection near South Miami Avenue. The driver of a Subaru Legacy lost control of the car after driving past the intersection, police said.

Eyewitnesses said the driver of the Subaru drove recklessly through the intersection and headed off into the building. It was not clear if this was a result of a mechanical fault or alcohol/drug influence. Eyewitnesses said it happened so fast and the crash was intense.

The report says the car was severely damaged. The showroom was not in operation when the crash happened, but a pedestrian was struck in the process.

EMS had to extricate the driver and passenger that was in the car, authorities said. They have all been transported together with the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Building inspectors are assessing the damage and police are also investigating the crash.
