Fort Myers Police reported that a car crashed into a school bus on Boy Scout Drive and Red Cedar Drive.
Emergency crew spokesman reported that the five children on the school bus sustained injuries from the accident. The authorities also confirmed that the driver of the bus as well as the driver of the car were injured.
Report says, the 31-year-old man driving a Toyota Camry crashed into a school bus with five students on board. This crash happened on Boy Scout Drive, police said. The driver reportedly ran into the intersection without observing the red light and struck the school bus.
It was reported that the silver colored Camry sideswiped the school bus. The school bus swerved and overturned.
The driver of the bus sustained non-life threatening injuries, police reported. Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries. All of the victims of the crash were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
