An ambulance transported a 12-year-old boy to the hospital following an accident on Northeast 14th Avenue involving a four-wheeler, police report.

A boy was in critical condition after sustaining internal injuries, EMS reported. He was allegedly a passenger of a four-wheeler, driven by a 26-year-old male. The four-wheeler was riding when a Nissan pickup truck rear-ended it.

The report affirmed that the boy’s identity won’t be released until the immediate family has been notified of this accident.

Authorities responded to the scene near the 728 block of Northeast 14th Avenue to investigate the accident. The boy had been taken by a privately owned vehicle to a nearby Medical Center before the EMS unit met them and transported the boy the rest of the way.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
