According to police report, a bicyclist suffered injuries in an accident with a car on New Berlin Road.
The accident occurred on New Berlin Road, at Duval in Jacksonville. The teenage bicyclist was riding eastbound on the New Berlin Road when a car rear-ended him.
A police spokesperson said the car’s driver lost control of the vehicle. This happened after he climbed the curb by the side of the road and overcorrected the vehicle. Eyewitnesses said the driver of the car apparently nodded off at the steering wheel prior to the collision.
Subsequently, the bicyclist fell from the bike. He hit his head on the ground and suffered a concussion. According to JFRD, the bicyclist is currently unconscious. Paramedics immediately rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital on a life support system.
