According to the police report, a bicyclist suffered injuries in an accident with a car on Ford Street.

The accident occurred on Ford Street at Florimond Manor in Lee County. The teenage bicyclist was riding southbound on the one-way street when a car rear-ended him.

A police spokesperson said the car’s driver lost control of the vehicle. This happened after he climbed the curb by the side of the road and overcorrected the vehicle. Eyewitnesses said the driver of the car apparently nodded off at the wheel prior to the collision.

The bicyclist fell from the bike. He hit his head on the ground and suffered a concussion. According to EMS, the bicyclist was unconscious. Paramedics immediately rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital.

According to a police spokesperson, police will charge the driver of the car for breaking traffic laws.
