Report says an Arlington Shopping Center became home to an unscheduled bus stop when a school bus crashed into a restaurant.
Fortunately at the occurrence of the crash, there were no children on the bus and no one was in the store.
The vehicle crashed into a restaurant was identified as a Duval County School bus according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The accident reportedly happened at Wally’s Gyros and Subs at Cesery Boulevard and Cesery Terrace.
Report says the restaurant’s owner, Wally Itani, was relatively calm after what happened. Itani reportedly said he’s glad that the bus did not drive into the kitchen area of his restaurant.
Itani is relieved that no one was seriously hurt.
According to Itani, the driver lost control of the bus. “Somebody cut her off, and she came right in our store,” he said.
It was reported that the bus driver has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the bus was quickly removed from the store.
The cause of the bus crash at Arlington Shopping Center remains under investigation.
