A speeding driver has left a two-day-old baby in critical condition after crashing into the vehicle on Southwest 88th Street.
Report says a couple were heading to their home from the hospital with their newborn when the accident occurred. Authorities said the accident happened on Southwest 88th Street, near West Kendall Baptist Hospital at Kendall West.
Eyewitnesses said a woman, her husband and their two-day-old baby were driving a Toyota Sienna. The man was driving home from the hospital when a man driving a Chevrolet crashed into them.
The driver, who was driving at a high rate of speed, did not suffer any injuries. He was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he passed. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
The couple has yet to file any complaints against the driver, and the accident remains under investigation.
