According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 59-year-old Naples Cyclist was Killed After He was Struck by a Vehicle In Golden Gate.
It was reported that the collision occurred on Green Boulevard near Mer Soleil Apartments. Troopers said the identity of the man will be made public after his next of kin is notified of his death.
Report says a 21-year-old female of Naples, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord east on Green Boulevard when the accident happened. Troopers said she was approaching the entrance of the apartment complex with three children in her vehicle when she entered a bike lane and struck the rear of a bicycle.
After the collision, the Honda driver reportedly veered left and crossed into the path of a 2015 Chevrolet City Express driven by a 41-year-old. The driver of the Chevy is also from Naples.
It was reported that the 41-year-old suffered minor injuries after her vehicle struck the rear of the Honda Accord.
According to the report, the four occupants of the Honda car were uninjured. The bicyclist was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where he eventually died. The crash in Golden Gate remains under investigation, according to FHP.
