A Sliding Collision With An SUV On North Dixie Highway Killed A Man

Report says a man from Wilton Manors died when his motorcycle flipped on its side and skidded into an SUV on North Dixie Highway.

Authorities said the 38-year-old man was speeding east on Northeast 16th Street in the left lane when the accident occurred. He was riding a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, investigators reported.

A 58-year-old woman was driving a 2008 Ford Expedition SUV northbound on North Dixie Highway when she made a left turn onto Northeast 16th Street.

It was reported that the motorcyclist hit the brakes, but his motorcycle fell on its side and then slid into the passenger side of the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the woman was not injured and she stayed at the scene of the collision cooperating with the investigators.

Police officials said the motorcycle’s speed contributed to the crash, but the investigation continues.
