A car rolled over after a 49-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle on Ortiz Avenue, resulting in injuries, said Fort Meyers officials.

Report says the rollover accident happened along Ortiz Avenue at Eastwood Village. There were two occupant in the Nissan Sentra when the accident occurred, a female driver and another 35-year-old woman.

It was reported that the woman was traveling at a high rate of speed when she suddenly veered off her lane. The police reported that this sharp turn at a high rate of speed must have caused the rollover accident.

Emergency Medical Service officials arrived at the site of the crash, few minutes after the accident happened. The injuries sustained by the driver and the female passenger were life-threatening, EMS said. Both of them have been transport to a nearby hospital.

Fort Myers Police Department is still investigating the accident. No further information by the victims had been made public.
