A Baby And Three Others Seriously Injured In Head-On Collision On Southwest 49th Avenue

It was reported that a one-year-old girl sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision on Southwest 49th Avenue. It appears the girl was not properly restrained in a car seat when the accident occurred.

According to the report by Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a pickup truck who was southbound on Southwest 49th Avenue ran off the road. The truck hit a mailbox before crossing into the northbound lanes of traffic and hit a car head-on.

Report says the driver and two passengers in the pickup truck were both thrown out due to the impact of the crash. These victims were reportedly transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. According to the report, the driver of the car also sustained serious injuries.

A preliminary crash report indicates alcohol was not involved in the crash.  Charges are pending.
