Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a 73-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Fort Caroline Road.
Law enforcement officials reported that the incident happened on Fort Caroline Road. Eyewitnesses say that the elderly woman was struck by an adult female driving a Honda minivan.
Police did not give an official press release on how or why the elderly pedestrian was struck. However, they did say that the driver who hit her remained at the scene of the accident. It was reported that she has been cooperative with officers in the ongoing investigation.
EMS arrived on the scene shortly after the accident occurred and administered first aid to the victim. The report said that the woman’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. The victim was stabilized and immediately taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
No other information about the identities of the people involved in the incident has been made public.
