56-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies In Fort Myers Crash

Authorities said rescue crews responded to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian on Cleveland Avenue.

According to officers with the Fort Myers Police Department, the pedestrian that got hit by a car and died was identified as Enrique Torres, 56. Torres died at the scene.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and waited for police to arrive, officers said.

Traffic on Cleveland was shut down in both directions between Winkler Avenue and Hill Avenue. Crews did not reveal any further information but said the crash remained under investigation.
