Authorities say 4 year old child was critically injured after being ejected from one of the two vehicles involved in an accident on Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the news release by the authorities, the crash happened at the intersection of Northwest 9th Avenue. The driver of a Dodge Neon collided with the driver of a Ford Explorer. .

The collision ejected the child, who was in the Dodge Neon, out of the vehicle. A Good Samaritan ran to the crash scene in order to help the driver and that was when she saw the baby on the ground.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene. The child was taken to the hospital for prompt treatment and is expected to survive. Both drivers were also taken to the hospital. Their medical condition remains unknown at the time of this report.
