19-Year Old Seriously Injured After Roosevelt Boulevard Rollover Crash

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a young driver was sent to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash on Highway 17.

According to officials, the crash happened near the entrance of Florida State College at Jacksonville at approximately 5:30 a.m. The 19-year-old male driver had to be extricated from his vehicle after he crashed.

Witnesses at the scene said the car was driving in the northbound lanes, hit a construction sign and drove over the median.

Traffic investigators say drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash based on evidence found inside the car.
