Florida Highway Patrol said they responded to a deadly crash on State Road 29 south of LaBelle in Hendry County Friday where one person was killed.
According to FHP, state troopers stated that two vehicles were involved in the crash and a 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene on SR-29 near A Rd.
Authorities said a 61-year-old man was driving a van westbound on A Rd. toward SR-29, while a 50-year-old man was driving a van with the 28-year-old in the passenger’s seat northbound on SR-29 toward A Rd.
According to the crash report, the 61-year-old driver violated the right of way of the vehicle driven by the 50-year-old, and the northbound van hit the left side of the westbound van.
Officials said the 28-year-old, who used a wheelchair was killed in the crash. Both drivers were listed as having critical injuries.
The crash scene was cleared.
